Cherry Hill is a larger, more recently developed township five miles east of
Philadelphia, and adjacent to the cluster of smaller towns featured above. There
are historical and vintage era homes within its 24 square miles, but it is known
also for its planned suburban neighborhoods, custom luxury homes and gated condominium
communities that have been developed since the mid-20th century. If you favor
the conveniences and amenities a modern suburb provides, Cherry Hill is a place
for you!
The municipality is a bustling suburb of over 70,000 residents and 4,000 businesses,
with 19 public schools, a brand-new multi-million dollar public library, and
it also boasts 49 parks and recreational facilities.
Its high school system is nationally recognized for its programs. For the 2001-02
school year, Cherry Hill High School East received the Blue Ribbon Award from
the U.S. Department of Education. SAT scores far exceed state and national averages,
with Cherry Hill High School East's average SAT score of 1668, ranking 41st
in the state, and West's 1,529 average ranking 124th in New Jersey.
The East Coast's first enclosed shopping mall, Cherry Hill Mall, continues
to offer shoppers a diverse selection of retail stores. Many corporations call
Cherry Hill home, which provide extensive employment opportunities with a short
commute.
